Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk surrounding the future of Marcel Sabitzer at Manchester United.
The player has been a successful addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad since his loan arrival in January following Christian Eriksen’s serious injury, and that’s why there was a thought the Red Devils might want to make the move a permanent one.
There have been mixed messages about this, with some claiming that the Dutchman isn’t thinking about that, while others believe it could happen, with the midfielder keen to stay, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Sky Germany journalist had a chat with the Manchester United midfielder on Wednesday, where he was asked whether he had spoken to Thomas Tuchel, now at Bayern Munich after the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann.
He said: “So far, of course, there has been no contact. Everyone is focused on their task. We will analyse later in which direction things will go, and we will discuss everything calmly.”
The journalist then added that he understands Sabitzer’s return to Bayern Munich is ‘still unlikely’ and the player ‘would like to join’ Manchester United on a permanent deal in the summer.
As for whether that will take place, he says ‘more talks will follow’ between all relevant parties.
