Portuguese side Alverca are interest interested in Watford striker Vivaldo Semedo and have already spoken to the Hornets about a move.

Record report that contacts are already underway with Watford, with the Portuguese side having ‘already expressed’ their interest in the 21-year-old.

Watford talks opened

According to the newspaper, Alverca have spoken to Watford regarding Vivaldo Semedo and ‘learned the conditions’ for a possible transfer for the 21-year-old. There is no mention of what that price might be in the piece.

But Semedo is currently valued at €1m. He joined Watford in an undisclosed deal from Udinese last summer, he previously cost them €3m in 2022. So, it is easy to imagine the fee Watford demand will be in the low millions.

Alverca are eyeing him up as a replacement for Marko Milovanović. He spent this season at the club on loan from Almería but is expected to return to the Spanish club this summer.

The 22-year-old managed nine goals and two assists in 31 games in the league this season. That’s despite playing in just 50% of the available minutes. He is their leading goalscorer, with Figueiredo second on six goals.

His departure, therefore, will leave a considerable hole to be filled. And it appears that the Portuguese side think that Vivaldo Semedo can fill it.

Return to Portugal

In comparison, he’s managed four goals and two assists in 26 games in the Championship for Watford this season.  He’s featured in just 17% of the available minutes, though. And he’s only been in the starting 11 13% of the time.

He’s a product of Sporting Club de Portugal’s youth system, playing for their U15s an U17s before moving to Udinese’s U19 side in 2022. He also spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Vizela.

The latter saw him score nine goals and register four assists in 27 games. Perhaps it is those numbers Alverca are looking at. Either way, they’ve opened initial talks with Watford about a deal this summer.
