Manchester City loanee Nahuel Ferraresi could have his spell at São Paulo extended, according to reports from Brazil.
Outlet IG today writes that the Tricolor have already opened talks to renew the deal. Instead of having the player until June, they want him in the squad ‘at least’ until December.
São Paulo are said to be confident about an agreement because of the player’s wish to stay at the club, besides the good relationship they have with Manchester City.
In case the City Football Group do not accept the loan, IG says Ferraresi will then return to England in the middle of the year, since the Brazilian side have no money to make a purchase.
The defender joined São Paulo’s last summer and has made 10 appearances for them so far. The Brazilian season is just starting, and manager Rogério Ceni plans to have the player in his squad.
That’s the opposite of what happened to Nahuel Bustos, who was also loaned by Manchester City last summer. The striker had a bad relationship with the coach and ended up having the spell cut short in December, moving to Argentine side Talleres.
