If Inter do end up selling Milan Skriniar in the final days of the January transfer window, it appears Manchester United’s Victor Lindelöf is an option for them to replace him.

The Sweden international hasn’t featured all that much under Erik ten Hag, playing just six times in the Premier League to date, and his prospects of receiving more minutes going forward are rather slim.

That’s why Inter will be looking at him, and it’s reported in Italy that despite initial conversations between the Italians and Manchester United going rather poorly, they aren’t over yet.

This comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, who look at who the Serie A club could fill any Skriniar shape hole with, and two ‘simpler’ names appear.

One of them is the Manchester United centre-back, and it’s explained that Inter first ‘asked the Red Devils for a loan’, but that was met with a refusal from the Premier League side.

However, ‘it’s not over’ and ‘the talks go on’, even if it’s pointed out that those in charge of such matters at Old Trafford ‘would only be willing to negotiate for a definitive deal’.

If Inter end up receiving around €20m for their player, then perhaps they could try and put something together for the Swede, but until he leaves, it seems they will try and continue to convince Manchester United of that loan they seemingly want.
