Anderlecht want to make Aston Villa’s Leander Dendoncker stay permanent, according to Voetbal Krant.
Unai Emery didn’t rely upon the 29-year-old at Aston Villa. The midfielder was allowed to join Napoli on loan in January before he went on another temporary move to Anderlecht.
The Aston Villa man has clocked in 450 minutes from five matches for the Belgian club.
As part of the loan deal, the Jupiler Pro League side have an option to buy Dendoncker for €8m at the end of this season.
The report states they want to buy the Villans owned player as ‘quickly as possible’. To do this, ‘talks are underway’ between the two clubs and Anderlecht’s intention is to lower the price tag to around €6m.
His contract at Villa Park lasts until 2026. Voetbal Krant state the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man is well aware he has no future at Aston Villa.
Therefore, Dendoncker prefers to join Anderlecht permanently. This will allow him to play regularly and stay close to his family and friends.
If a deal is agreed between Anderlecht and Premier League side, Dendoncker will sign a four-year contract with the Belgian club.
