Romanian agent Florin Manea has revealed he would like to take Gaziantep striker Denis Drăguş to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace and West Ham United in his viewfinder.
The agent has been speaking to Fanatik in Romania, relayed by Antena AS, about his plans moving forward after a busy few months.
He was key to Radu Dragusin’s move to Tottenham in the January transfer window, a move he’s not only delighted with but hasn’t stopped talking about since.
He’s one of two Romanian players currently plying their trade in the Premier League, joining Ionuț Andrei at Bournemouth.
The list of Romanian players to have played in England’s top flight isn’t a particularly extensive one, with the likes of Adrian Mutu, Dan Petrescu and Costel Pantilimon among the more standout names.
Dragusin is now carrying the flag for his country, but it seems his agent would like to add to the list in Gaziantep striker Denis Drăguş.
He has 12 goals and one assist in 33 games for the Turkish side this season and Manea believes he’d perfect for Crystal Palace or West Ham; a deal he’d be happy to negotiate if the player opens the door to a collaboration.
“Drăguş plays well. I would like to, I always talk to him, I want to collaborate with him. I want to help him,” he said.
“To take him to a place like the world. I would like to bring him here to England. He has Premier League value, but we are not talking about the top five.
“We are talking about West Ham, Crystal Palace. I think so and we have already had a few discussions. He was also close to Stoke City before going to Gaziantep. The way he prepares now and how he plays; he has a chance.
“He is a player I like a lot. He’s destabilising, he started to score. Why shouldn’t he be lucky too? It is also a matter of luck, even if it is also of value.
“Let’s hope, let’s see what happens. The European Championship is decisive for him. If he plays well in Europe, the chances are high that he will come to the Premier League. That’s what I say.”
Manea appears to be wanting a repeat operation to the Dragusin one for his other client, with West Ham and Crystal Palace ideal landing spots in his eyes, especially when you consider the issues the Hammers have had in the position over the years.
