Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye is yet to receive any proposal from a club in Saudi Arabia, despite claims that could be an option for him this summer.
That’s according Babacar Ndaw Faye, who insists that reports of interest from Al Ahli are wide of the mark at this point.
Gueye had been linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia this summer as the mass exodus of players to the country continues across Europe.
Al-Ahli, who are one of the four clubs owned by the Public Investment Fund and have spent a fortune so far this summer, spending €80m on Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino among other deals.
They had been linked with a move to get Gueye from Everton, but Faye insists that is not happening and there have been no offers or even discussions with the players.
Contrary to the rumours, Gueye is not a target, and it would be ‘senseless’ for that to change given Al-Ahli are currently in the final stages of signing Franck Kessie from Barcelona.
It seems Everton can rest easy for the time being, then, as Gueye won’t be departing anytime soon, at least not to Saudi Arabia.
