Kim Min-jae to Manchester United has been one of the biggest rumours of the summer window so far.
The Italian media, and specifically newspapers local to the defender’s current club Napoli, have been utterly convinced the transfer is happening in the coming weeks.
Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport continues with that theme, saying ‘insiders’ around Napoli now ‘take it for granted’ that Kim will be a Manchester United player at the end of the market.
The Premier League side are ready to pay his clause, which is a minimum of €50m. Various figures have been claimed in recent weeks, and Gazzetta say the final amount will depend upon the 2022 turnover of the club, in this case Manchester United, which buys him.
That’s an unusual way of working out a clause and seems to be something implanted by Kim’s agents, but it still means the Red Devils would be getting a relatively cheap and easy deal.
Gazzetta dello Sport state that despite insiders believing the transfer is all but done, an official announcement may not come until the beginning of July.
