The Swedish media believe Leeds United have a new club hero in summer signing Pontus Jansson. The Sweden international joined Leeds United on loan from Torino in the last transfer window, and since coming into the team has impressed.
Fotbollskanalen have reported Jansson is already on his way to being more of a success than former Leeds United attacker Tomas Brolin. Jansson was in impressive form making his debut against Blackburn Rovers last week, and maintained his form in the 2-0 win over Cardiff City at the weekend.
The 24-year-old has already been labelled as a cult hero among the Leeds United faithful, according to the Swedish claims, and is expected to achieve more than Brolin did in the mid 1990s. Brolin came to England with a huge reputation when he signed for Leeds United from Parma, but had fitness issues whilst at Elland Road.
Jansson has already stated he wants to help Leeds United get back into the Premier League, and has shown his intentions in his first two league games for the club.
Leeds United have now put back to back wins together after a shaky start to the season, and Garry Monk’s side will be hoping to kick on from here.
