Swansea City and West Brom have reportedly offered €20m for the Sporting striker Islam Slimani.
The bids, however, are still not enough to convince the Portuguese club, according to Wednesday’s edition of Record.
Sporting want around €30m to sell the player. This is the same value from his release clause, which expired in June and no clubs seemed eager to pay at the time. Despite having more power to negotiate now, this amount should still be enough to take the player from the club.
Slimani wants to leave and has been reportedly been in a fight with the club during the past few days. On Monday, after trying to talk with the manager Jorge Jesus about his transfer situation, he left the club and missed the afternoon’s session. He returned to train normally on Tuesday, but didn’t talk to the manager nor the club president.
The newspapers say a Premier League move is all he wants, but Sporting won’t let him go so easly. Several English sides have been linked, but with these bids, Swansea and WBA are said to be frontrunners.
