Sunderland and Swansea scouts are expected to attend the Champions League match between FC Copenhagen and Club Brugge, reports Danish media outlet BT.
The Premier League sides will specifically focus on the performance of FC Copenhagen striker Federico Santander, who was also scouted by Everton and Lyon recently.
The 25-year-old signed for FC Copenhagen last summer in a €3m deal from Paraguayan club Guarani, and has been a crucial player for the Danish side.
FC Copenhagen boss Ståle Solbakken, however, has ruled out the possibility of him leaving in the winter.
He said: “It is out of the question to sell him. There will be no sale in winter. We have a responsibility. We can’t just sell and sell and sell. He has only been here a year and a half, so that question can’t be raised.”
Solbakken insisted a big money offer could be tempting, and it could be an ideal situation for all parties.
He added: “Yes, but then we come up with astronomical amounts. That’s what I think. It is a win/win situation.”
It’s safe to say Santander will definitely have an extra motivation to perform well when both sides meet on Tuesday night.
