The Portuguese press doesn’t seem very confident that Swansea City can take Vincent Aboubakar from Porto.

This week, the English press have been saying Carlos Carvalhal has the intention to bring the forward to the Premier League in the January market.

And as Portuguese newspaper Record covers the story today, they don’t seem concerned that Porto’s top scorer this season would leave so easily.

In a short note, they claim Swansea City already tried to sign Aboubakar in the summer, but failed, and the story is very likely to repeat itself now.

The main reason why Swansea would have a hard job getting the striker is because he’s protected by a €50m release clause, so Porto seem comfortable with that barrier.

Other papers don’t give much attention to the story either. That’s pretty different from other cases, when clubs like Manchester United or Chelsea are linked to one of the Portuguese league players.

So if Swansea City do manage to sign Aboubakar now, the local media will certainly be taken by surprise.
