It’s safe to say Swansea City owned Bafetimbi Gomis’ loan spell at Marseille has been a successful one so far.

The French forward has scored six goals in nine appearances up to now, but the Ligue 1 club don’t have the option to make his move permanent.

Yesterday, French website Le 10 Sport reported Gomis is aware of the fact that the Ligue 1 club won’t retain him next season, after the arrival of new owners.

Marseille’s new President, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, has been speaking to French website Telefoot (via Get France Football News), and was asked about the possibility of Gomis continuing at the Ligue 1 club next season.

He said: “I like Gomis a lot. He is very compatible with Marseille. If he wants to continue with us, there is no problem.”

The 31-year-old has another year left on his contract after this season, and his future at Swansea City remains uncertain.

It remains to be seen if Bob Bradley fancies the French forward next season, as it was Francesco Guidolin who wanted to ship him away.
