Swedish sports director Mikael Dorsin has been in contact with Swansea City about a move as he ponders his next steps.

Tipsbladet report on Dorsin today. He’s recently moved to Copenhagen after being dismissed from Rosenborg, but already has potential offers on the table.

Swansea City make contact

Tipsbladet report that Mikael Dorsin has been in contact with Swansea City about a job. He’s already turned down another Championship club. That other club is unnamed.

According to the newspaper, the 44-year-old has received a number of enquiries and offers. He’s already turned down a sports director job at a Championship club. At the same time, he has been in dialogue with Swansea.

There have also been links to the vacant sports director job at his former club Djurgården. But he is not a man who is in a hurry to make a decision.

“I have a few different options that I am considering,” he told Tipsbladet when they contacted him for comment.

Rosenborg success

But his time at Rosenborg can be considered a success. He was there from 2020 to 2026 and from 2023 was the chief executive at the club. His time saw them achieve record sales and hit close to half a billion Norwegian kroner in transfer revenue.

That includes sales to major leagues and clubs such as Manchester City, Benfica and Lille. He was the sporting director who generated the most profit from 2022 to 2026. A quarter of a billion kroner was generated on players from Rosenborg’s academy.

Tangible success like that makes Mikael Dorsin a name that clubs would be interested. Particularly clubs like Swansea City, where generating smart transfer revenue is almost a requirement.

It seems the Swans have already been in touch about a move. Whether those negotiations are ongoing, or to be continued, remains to be seen. But Dorsin is a name to keep an eye on moving forwards.
