Archie Gray extended his Leeds United contract earlier this year, and is now on a deal lasting until June 2028. Unless that contact contains a Victor Orta style do what you want if we’re not in the PL clause, then the Whites are well protected against clubs who may move for the youngster.
That obviously doesn’t mean a transfer is out of the question, but any move would be on Leeds United terms as there’s no pressure contractually.
Monday’s edition of Bild reports Borrusia Dortmund are interested, and their squad planner, Sven Mislintat, is ‘trying to lure’ Gray to the Bundesliga club.
Borussia Dortmund are said to have been keen for a long time, and it’s thought they could take advantage of Leeds United’s failure to secure Premier League football.
Regarding the player’s views on a move, Bild say it’s ‘leaked out from his environment’ that he is absolutely considering a move to Dortmund. That may be be wishful thinking, time will tell.
BVB don’t really have any idea of what a potential transfer fee would be for Gray, and that could be where this all gets a little too messy for them.
