Jose Mourinho being announced as AS Roma manager has shaken Italian football. The appointment was such a surprise that many didn’t initially believe it, thinking the Serie A club had seen their social media hacked, or it was all part of a marketing campaign.

But, sure enough, Mourinho has found a new job quickly after his Tottenham exit.

This is seeing many offshoot reports, one of which comes from Torino Granata and concerns West Ham United.

They explain that when Maurizio Sarri was expected to take over at Roma, as had been reported throughout Italy, there was also a feeling he would go and sign Andrea Belotti from Torino.

Now that isn’t thought to be on the cards and Torino Granata say, according to their own sources, that West Ham have the ‘best chance’ of getting the striker.

Given Torino Granata won’t want Belotti going anywhere, them linking West Ham so strongly may well be worth paying attention to, despite it being a surprise claim.

The 27-year-old has a contract expiring in June 2022, and has scored 12 goals, adding seven assists, in 31 Serie A matches so far this season.
