Over the past few weeks, Galatasaray have been working on signing Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. They have an agreement in place with the Brazilian but are yet to convince the Citizens to sanction a move this summer.
Ederson isn’t the only Manchester City player on the Turkish club’s agenda as they are also keen on Manuel Akanji.
That’s according to L’Equipe, and they report Galatasaray have made advances to sign the Manchester City defender.
The Turkish champions have made an offer to the centre-back, without the newspaper providing further details.
L’Equipe reports Akanji’s agent is expected to arrive in Istanbul to sort out personal terms with Galatasaray before they move forward for an agreement with Pep Guardiola’s side.
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share more on the Süper Lig winners’ pursuit of the 30-year-old.
He reports Galatasaray have made a formal offer to Manchester City but he hasn’t mentioned the fee proposed.
According to Sabuncuoğlu, Gala have started official talks with the English club and the Switzerland international’s agent will arrive in Turkey this week to meet Galatasaray’s officials.
Both L’Equipe and Sabuncuoğlu make no mention of whether Manchester City are willing to let Akanji leave in this window.
