There are big, but eyebrow-raising, claims coming from Turkey on Wednesday morning regarding Marcelo Bielsa.

Given the manager’s approach to contracts, not having lengthy ones, and that his Leeds United future is very much in the air, Bielsa has been linked to multiple other positions in recent months.

None of the claims have seemed especially concrete, and that’s the case again today.

Sabah and Fotomac both carry claims around Fenerbahce and the Leeds boss. It’s stated the Turkish club’s president Ali Koc has held a ‘meeting with Marcelo Bielsa’.

That seems questionable from the start, as it’s very unlikely the manager would speak to any other club behind Leeds’ back, given the relationships he’s built up at Elland Road.

Should he leave in the summer than a break appears the more obvious way forward, rather than throwing himself in at the deep end again.

Nevertheless, Bielsa is said to be a candidate for Fener ahead of the summer, along with Joachim Löw, Jorge Jesus and Roger Schmidt.
