Manchester United have been credited with interest in Fulham’s Kevin Mbabu, according to a surprise claim from Italy.
The 27-year-old joined Fulham from VfL Wolfsburg last summer and has not been relied upon regularly by Marco Silva this season. The right-back has made two starts and has not featured since last November.
Mbabu could leave Fulham in January. That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who name Manchester United and AC Monza as his suitors.
The Serie A side have identified the fullback as a target for the winter market and would have to beat the Red Devils to sign him.
TMW’s title states the Switzerland international is ‘close to Manchester United’. Within the short report, it’s explained the Fulham player’s transfer to Old Trafford is in the ‘advanced negotiation’ stage.
Erik ten Hag has Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the two recognised right-backs at his disposal. The latter has impressed in recent weeks and is currently competing with Dalot for a place in the starting lineup.
It remains to be seen whether TMW’s surprise claim of Manchester United’s interest in Mbabu will be backed up in England in the coming hours.
