Tottenham signed Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus towards the end of the January transfer window.
The midfielder joined Spurs on a permanent deal, while the Swede arrived at the club on an 18-month loan deal. There is an option to make Kulusevski’s stay permanent and it will become an obligation, if certain conditions are met.
There’s belief Kulusevski will eventually be sold to the north London club, and these two sales helped the Old Lady cover the costs of signing Dušan Vlahović from Fiorentina.
He sealed a switch to the Turin club on January 28th and before the deal was made official, Tottenham tried to snatch the striker away from Massimiliano Allegri’s side. These claims are made by Italian journalist Romeo Aggresti on his YouTube channel, and relayed by CalcioToday.it.
According to Aggresti, Spurs chief Fabio Paratici ‘tried to steal’ the Serbia international from Juventus ‘until the last second’. He ‘tried to block’ Vlahović’s move to Turin, but both the Premier League club and their chief ‘returned empty-handed’.
Paratici, however, returned to his former club, to help Antonio Conte have Kulusevski and the Uruguayan at his disposal for the second half of the season.
