As reported by the Italian media this week, Salernitana could be heading to a quite strange situation in the January transfer window.
With their president claiming all of their unhappy players are for sale, there could be an exodus from the Serie A side, who stand at the bottom of the table with no big signs of improvement.
It turns out that Arsenal are now dragged to the situation, because according to Le Cronache, relayed by Salernotizie, the Gunners are interested in Boulaye Dia.
The striker is believed to be one of the most valuable players Salernitana has in their squad, and Mikel Arteta’s side are apparently taking a step ahead of the competition.
It’s claimed that Arsenal are willing to put £13m on the table to get the signing done, and also offer Charlie Patino in the deal.
The midfielder, who’s recently been linked to Juventus, is currently on loan at Swansea City, but would be used as an exchange currency by the Gunners.
The story claims developments are ‘expected in the coming days’, and those are quite surprising statements, first because Arsenal’s attempt would be coming out of nowhere, and then because the Italian media suddenly started naming Patino as a very active asset in the Gunners’ market ahead of the January transfer window despite him being out on loan.
