Anderlecht have a ‘dream’ to sign Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen this summer.
That’s according to Saturday’s edition of Gazet van Antwerpen, who claim the Belgian club would like to be in the picture to try and sign him.
The midfielder’s game time at Manchester United was restricted last season as he clocked in less than 1,500 minutes from 28 games.
That didn’t stop him from representing Denmark at Euro 2024 and he impressed for the national team in Germany. This, coupled with his contract situation [deal expires in 2025] has seen him attract interest from a few clubs.
Anderlecht are included in this list and would position themselves, if he decides to leave Old Trafford.
GVA say this is their own information and add that the Red Devils would be open to letting him leave.
The Denmark international has recently insisted he’s happy with his life in Manchester, and isn’t thinking about leaving, despite the limited game time last season.
Should Eriksen change his stance and decide to leave Manchester United, Anderlecht would have a chance to sign him. It would be the ‘stunt of the summer transfer market’ if they were to secure their dream target.
The report says it’s too early to predict the outcome and the case could drag on until the end of the window. The Jupiler Pro League side will also face an obstacle from Ajax as they are also interested in Eriksen.
