Dynamo Dresden midfielder Kofi Amoako is tempted to join Leeds United this summer, with the German side expecting a very lucrative offer to arrive for him.
Sachsische Zeitung report on the 21-year-old today. The newspaper states that the suitors are starting to line up for Amoako and Leeds are among them.
Leeds have player ‘in their sights’
It’s explained that the Dynamo squad will undergo significant changes during the summer window. Work is already underway to make that happen.
Sporting director Sören Gonther has been responsible for this since January 1st. He had already stated in March: “We have prepared transfers that we can make if we stay in the second division. But there are also players we are considering who we see as suitable for both leagues.”
“It’s difficult to predict how much of a change there will be. But of course, the squad will change.”
One name that has been discussed ‘particularly frequently’ in recent days is Kofi Amoako. The list of alleged interested parties in him is growing. 1. FC Köln, Hamburger SV, Union Berlin, and 1. FSV Mainz 05 from the Bundesliga have now expressed interest.
The Italian first-division club US Lecce already courted the defensive midfielder during the January transfer window.
Leeds United offer lucrative sum
Leeds are also reported to have the defensive midfielder ‘in their sights’. A potential transfer fee in the ‘low seven-figure range’ has been mooted. That would be a very lucrative sum for Dynamo this summer.
A move to Elland Road would be tempting for the player too. He is, reportedly, less than happy with his role as a super sub this season. He wants to finish the season and the look at his options. That gives Leeds the opportunity to make their move if they want to.
Dresden, for their part, would like to keep him. “We made him a concrete offer,” explained Gonther, “and we would be very happy if we could continue on this path together.”
But a Premier League offer, which would be tempting for the player and lucrative for the club, may be hard to resist on all sides.
