There’s multiple reports on Thursday afternoon coming from Italy which Davide Santon is closing in on a transfer to Sunderland.
Currently back with Inter Milan, Santon is best known in England for his time with Sunderland’s fierce rivals Newcastle United.
Largely out of Roberto Mancini’s plans at Inter Milan, Santon has been linked with a succession of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace, to reunite with Alan Pardew, and Watford.
Of course, similar Santon stories have popped up previously, with the two clubs mentioned and others, and he’s regularly a star of the transfer window. That said, there does feel a little more to this one.
