Sunderland star Noah Sadiki has admitted that he feels more free playing with Congo than he does playing for the Black Cats.

Foot RDC have an interview with the Sunderland midfielder today. He’s currently starring for Congo at AFCON after impressing at the Stadium of Light so far.

He’s been one of Sunderland’s key players as they’ve made a flying start to life back in the Premier League.

Sadiki joined Sunderland from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer transfer window and quickly established himself alongside Granit Xhaka in the heart of their midfield.

Indeed, several bigger clubs have already shown interest in Sadiki because of his performances, and scouts from these clubs are actively monitoring him for potential future transfers.

This season, Regis Le Bris has assigned Sadiki a more refined role than he usually plays, using him as a controller in the middle of the park.

That’s worked out so far. But it is very much a new role for the 21-year-old from what he played previously. It’s all different to the role he plays on the international stage, where he believes he is given more freedom.

“When I first arrived there, playing under pressure was a bit difficult for me,” he said.

“Now, I’m also working on the mental aspect, to be more motivated. It helps me make better decisions, read the game faster, and that’s what has allowed me to develop.

“Here, I feel even freer than at Sunderland. I can really move around, get involved in the game. These are things that also come with time and hard work.”
