Sunderland are still interested in signing Anderlecht forward Stefano Okaka, according to claims in the Italian media. The Italy international has been linked with a move to the Premier League this year after Crystal Palaces and Swansea City sent scouts to watch the former Sampdoria player.
TMW have reported Sunderland are continuing to track Okaka, but an agreement to sign the Italian has yet to be happen.
The Premier League side have been linked with Okaka already this month following claims from Belgium Sunderland are willing to bid around €5m-€6m for Okaka, but Anderlecht want at least €10m which could be ‘way too much’ for the Premier League side.
Serie A side Palermo are also showing an interest in the striker, but a deal is unlikely to happen with the Sicilian club
In February we covered reports from the Belgian media that Crystal Palace and Swansea City sent scouts to watch Anderlecht’s Stefano Akaka against Olympiakos in the Europa League.
Okaka was also linked with a move to Leeds United last summer as the club looked to bolster their attacking options. Owner Massimo Cellino made the forward one of his prime targets, but missed out on the player.
