Sunderland are planning to sell Jeremain Lens in the upcoming transfer window according to MilliyetSpor.

MilliyetSpor say Sunderland’s recent troubles with Financial Fair Play will lead to them selling the player as they also believe Lens doesn’t have any future with the club.

Sunderland are now sitting 18th in the table and Milliyet points out they’ll likely have to make signings in order to avoid relegation. Sunderland are currently having issues with finances and selling Lens will make it easier for the club to sign players.

Fenerbahçe want to use this to their advantage to get Lens, with the Dutchman impressing during his loan with the Yellow Canaries this season. Lens currently tops the assist list in the SuperLeague despite missing a handful of games due to injuries.

Milliyet also report Fenerbahçe must sell some players before they sign Lens, with the Turkish club now waiting on the sale of former West Ham striker Emmanuel Emenike to Spartak Moscow.

Signed by Sunderland from Dinamo Kiev for €8m Lens failed to make an impact after his arrival in England last year. He was overlooked by David Moyes, but Lens has found form at Fenerbahçe, which has helped him regain his place in Danny Blind’s Netherlands side.
