As had been reported over the past few days, Romaine Mundle will be signing for Sunderland before the end of the transfer window.

This comes from Sacha Tavolieri, who reveals on Wednesday a deal had been struck between the Black Cats and Standard Liège for the transfer of the young forward.

A report on Tuesday explained that Sunderland the Belgian side were negotiating a fee of around €1.5-2m for the Englishman, but they had yet to shake hands on a deal.

On top of that, DH added that some bonuses would be included once the base fee had been agreed on, which is now backed up by Tavolieri.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the journalist reveals that Standard Liège will be getting €2m, bonuses included, as well as ‘percentage of a future profit’.

Therefore, if Mundle does well as Sunderland, like a certain Jack Clarke has done since his arrival, and he gets sold, the Jupiler Pro League side can get a nice chunk of money on top.

It’s a gamble for the Black Cats, as the player didn’t exactly impress in Belgium, making a mere seven appearances in all competitions for the first-team, having joined them after refusing to extend his contract at Tottenham.
