Towards the end of the summer 2021 window, Leicester City allowed Dennis Praet to join Torino on a season-long loan deal.

As part of the agreement between the Foxes and the Serie A side, the latter retain an option to make the midfielder’s stay permanent after this campaign.

The Leicester City owned player’s game time in Italy has been hindered by two different injuries. He’s made 19 appearances in all competitions, managing two goals and an assist in the process.

Last week, we relayed news from Italy that the Turin club are unlikely to make an attempt to buy Brendan Rodgers’ man in the summer for ‘budgetary’ reasons.

According to Corriere Torino, Praet’s stay at the club ‘would ensure an important leap in quality’.

It’s claimed the redemption option is set at €12m, but Torino don’t intend to pay this fee to Leicester. Instead, their sporting director, Davide Vagnati, is ‘trying to renew’ the Belgium international’s loan deal for one more season.

This is done with the intention to ‘postpone the large investment for a year’. Praet’s asking price will be lowered in 2023, when he will only have a year left on his Leicester contract.

Corriere Torino doesn’t mention the Premier League side’s stance on this possible arrangement.
