Mario Balotelli is set to leave Adana Demispor this summer, although a potential move to Newcastle United is less likely than it once was.

Il Mattino explain the striker ‘has his bags packed’ ahead of the summer and is keen to leave the Turkish side for a return to Europe.

This move will be ‘the last train’ for the striker to ‘return to great levels’, and his agent, Mino Raiola, is ‘preparing for another hot summer.’

Balotelli is one of several of his clients who are likely to move this summer, and the super-agent is working to find him a soluton.

Back in January, the Super Lig club’s directors ‘revealed a bid’ from Newcastle, although nothing came of it, and the Magpies signed Chris Wood from Burnley instead.

At the time, the rumour was largely scoffed at, but there appears to have been something in it, with Il Mattino somewhat backing it up here and saying that the ‘English and French sirens’ are ‘more and more pressing’.

They don’t, however, specifically say those sirens are coming from Newcastle. If they remain keen, then there is certainly a deal there to be done with Balotelli keen on ‘a new adventure’.

It’s hard to imagine the Magpies will want him, though. They look certain to stay in the Premier League now, and that means their focus will surely be on more attractive options than the Italian.

It’s one to keep an eye on, of course, as Balotelli has his ‘suitcase in hand’ ready to leave Turkey and give his career one last shot in the arm.
