Tottenham will have to offer as much as €50m if they wish to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma this summer.

That’s according to Il Tempo, relayed by Giallorossi.net, who cover the midfielder’s future today.

They explain that Zaniolo is currently locked in contract renewal talks with Roma but ‘would like’ the club to keep promises they’ve made previously.

Roma are holding back, though, with club chief Tiago Pinto having been instructed that the club would prefer any talk of renewals to be postponed until the end of the season.

Zaniolo, meanwhile, ‘would like to earn’ as much as Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham, who both pick up €6m a year courtesy of ‘easily achievable bonuses’.

Whether Roma are willing to offer that isn’t clear, but they would like to find an agreement so that they will have ‘more bargaining power’ in case offers arrive for the midfielder.

They’re yet to arrive, but there are two clubs who have ‘shown a certain interest’ in the player; Juventus and Tottenham.

At the moment, they ‘seem destined to move away’ from a deal after their January business, with it thought Tottenham won’t be spending big in midfield.

That’s given Roma time to try and secure Zaniolo to a new contract, although they are still willing to discuss a deal.

Should any interested party, such as Tottenham, present an ‘attractive’ offer of €50m or more, then both the club and player ‘will consider’ their options.
