There’s now a suggestion from Germany that Harry Kane could take a key decision to speed up his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Bild, despite the Bundesliga’s side latest offer, which was €85m plus €10m in bonuses, they still need a new push to get the striker signed.
Kane himself is said to be keen on completing the move soon, playing for Tottenham this weekend and then getting ready to debut for Bayern Munich in the Supercup on August 12.
Now in case Spurs don’t take the offer, instead of seeing him fulfilling his contract at the club, there’s a belief he could ‘buy himself free’.
That means Kane would give up big part of his remaining salary at Spurs, which is said to be worth €24m a season.
That could then bridge the difference between the two clubs, but would see Kane take a financial hit for the coming campaign.
Bayern Munich would have more money to spend in the transfer now and compensate him with later payments, which could be in bonuses.
Bild points out that the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Julian Nagelsmann made similar moves in the past, so a little help from Kane wouldn’t be an unheard of development.
It’s claimed that Bayern Munich chiefs are ‘optimistic’ about the deal, regardless of this potential move from the player.
Obviously, the German club simply matching what Tottenham are asking for looks a far better solution.
