Wolves are expected to announce the signing of Jørgen Strand Larsen in the coming days, as the forward goes through his final checks to join the club.
He’s moving from Celta Vigo to the Premier League side for around €30m, and the 24-year-old will now have a chance to shine in English football.
Monday’s edition of Faro de Vigo, which is the newspaper most reliable and informed on Celta news, has an interesting development which they present as being connected to this deal.
And, yes, of course it involves Uncle Jorge.
Celta Vigo and a group of Ecuadorian businessmen want to buy 80% of Paços de Ferreira.
Jorge Mendes is the one managing it all, and it’ll cost around €10m. The owners of Independiente del Valle and Celta will control Paços, who are currently in Liga 2 Portugal and want to return to the Portuguese big time.
Mendes is helping Paços out with this, and then Faro de Vigo point out Guo Guangchang owns 20% of Gestifute, Mendes’ agency, and Wolves.
The insinuation is that one deal has helped the other, although it’s not clear which way around they believe that is.
