There is little doubt that agents have been pushing Carney Chukwuemeka around clubs this summer, with all kinds of claims made about interest in the Aston Villa youngster.
Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Barcelona are among the clubs who have been linked, with those claims sometimes dismissed by their local media. It follows a trend in recent seasons of young players in England being linked with Europe’s biggest sides as agents try to build deals.
The latest club being linked with Chukwuemeka is AC Milan and it appears the Rossoneri may have taken the transfer bait. There’s been repeat claims on interest in the Italian newspapers and Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport says ‘don’t be surprised’ if Milan, who are ‘in the running’ to sign him, soon make an offer.
It’s thought Aston Villa are working to keep the 18-year-old, and competition from other clubs is also mentioned, although that may be overstated. Over at Corriere della Sera they cover Milan’s interest in the player, and say ‘watch out’ for potential developments on the situation.
Again it’s not mentioned how much the Serie A side would be prepared to pay.
