Suggestion Chelsea could be destination for player, as Barcelona consider big summer sale

Philippe Coutinho’s first full season at Barcelona hasn’t gone how the former Liverpool player will have hoped it would.

The Spanish media continually report what a big disappointment he’s been, and many of the club’s fans would be quite happy if the Brazilian is sold this summer.

And all of this was before the fateful match at Anfield last week, in which Coutinho seriously disappointed.

Barcelona’s problem with a transfer is finding a club who would pay a big enough fee for the player, and Marca suggest that could be Chelsea.

With Eden Hazard likely leaving Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid this summer, there’s going to be a boost to Chelsea’s transfer budget. Yet all of that depends on whether or not the Blues can persuade CAS to overturn their transfer ban.

Marca believe Coutinho still has a big market in England, thanks to his time impressing for Liverpool, and Chelsea are the latest club seen as a good destination.
