Hull City and Blackburn Rovers are among the clubs chasing FC Nantes’ Yassine Benhattab ahead of the summer window.
The winger’s future is uncertain, and Hull City and Blackburn Rovers want to bring him to the Championship.
He joined the Ligue 1 side on a free transfer in August 2024 and moved to SC Aubagne Air Bel on loan last season.
Since returning to his parent club, the winger has played 477 minutes from 10 matches this season. Nantes sent him on loan to Stade de Reims in January.
The 23-year-old has managed one goal from 11 matches for the Ligue 2 side. That goal came in the Coupe de France win over Le Mans in February.
His Ligue 2 stats are as follows:
- Appearances: 10
- Starts: 5
- Total minutes played: 543
- Minutes per game: 54
- Goals: 0
- Assists: 0
- Key passes per game: 1.3
- Big chances created: 3
Hull City and Blackburn Rovers keen
Foot Mercato now report Stade de Reims have a €5m purchase option as part of the loan deal. They’re fifth in the table and without promotion, making Yassine Benhattab’s stay permanent won’t be financially viable.
This is a boost for his other suitors, including the Championship duo. Several unnamed Ligue 1 sides are monitoring his situation and a top club competing in Europe have contacted his agent.
The attacker attracts interest beyond France where Hull City and Blackburn Rovers have ‘shown strong interest’ in bringing him to the Championship.
In addition to this, Hannover 96, Schalke and unnamed clubs from the Eredivisie and the Portuguese league are also following him with ‘great interest’.
Nantes are 17th in the table [18 teams in Ligue 1] and are five points behind 16th placed Auxerre. They have three matches this season and are preparing for the relegation.
At the same time, their leaders are following Benhattab’s case with great enthusiasm. That’s because the Ligue 1 side welcome his sale in the next window, either to Stade de Reims or another club.
Sergej Jakirović has Mohamed Belloumi, David Akintola and Yu Hirakawa as three right wingers at his disposal.
Hirakawa is on loan from Bristol City while Sport Witness relayed news the Tigers wanted to get rid of Akintola in January, but that didn’t happen. He could be on the move in the next window, and the Nantes player can be an option for Hull City.
Contract, value and agent info
With a contract expiring in 2028, Transfermarkt value Yassine Benhattab at €2m, which is the highest value of his career.
Agency SCC Management are taking care of his interest and future. It’ll be interesting to see where he will play next season.
