Aston Villa continue to track Kaio Jorge’s situation closely. And the striker’s latest comments in Brazil offer a clearer picture of what any European club will face in 2026.
After scoring twice in their last league fixture, the 23-year-old spoke about his future. As relayed by the Antena, he admitted that he will not rule out proposals from abroad. At the same time, the forward stressed that he remains happy at Cruzeiro and open to a contract renewal.
Kaio Jorge said: “My heart is very happy here. If I said that I would say no if an offer comes, I’d be lying. But today I’m very happy at Cruzeiro. I hope to stay for a long time. Everyone knows football is dynamic and full of opportunities. I’m very happy and hope to keep scoring goals.”
He then sent a direct message to Pedrinho Lourenço, the club owner: “If Pedrinho wants to renew, we sit down and talk. I’m very happy and proud to score goals in this shirt.”
The forward also commented on enquiries from Europe. He insisted that he is not thinking about a transfer right now, even though Premier League clubs have shown interest this year. He explained: “I’m not even thinking about that, to be honest. I hope to play the Libertadores here, but the board decides. I leave it in their hands.”
Aston Villa receive mixed messages

For Aston Villa, who have already sent scouts, these remarks add important context to the pursuit. Kaio Jorge remains open to a move, yet he also signals genuine willingness to stay and extend his deal, which already runs until 2029.
He has 21 league goals this season and continues to attract attention from European scouts. With no formal offers on the table, the next step depends on whether any club – including Villa – decide to test Cruzeiro’s resolve once the window opens.
