Juventus have been quite active in the transfer market this summer, but they’re still looking for a replacement for Paul Pogba. It is reported Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic is on the wishlist of Massimiliano Allegri, but a deal sounds extremely complicated.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport in their Wednesday edition, Juventus are very much interested in signing Matic, and the player is also keen on a move.
Gazzetta say Matic’s representatives had a meeting yesterday with Chelsea to discuss his future at the club. They’ve reiterated Matic’s desire to leave the club, and that he wants to join a new team.
Gazzetta, unsurprisingly, believe Juventus are the ideal team, as they can offer him Champions League football.
Antonio Conte, however, doesn’t want to sell Matic, and considers him a key player. Juventus are thinking of offering Simone Zaza in exchange for Nemanja Matic, and are hoping Conte might accept that.
Juventus have an offer of around €25m for Zaza from Wolfsburg, but the player doesn’t want to go.
It’d be surprising if Zaza was a huge temptation for Conte, there are better options available on the market if he wants a back-up striker.
