RC Lens striker Elye Wahi has offers from Leicester City and West Ham United but is holding them off for now.

That’s according to RMC Sport, who say the striker may be holding out for Marseille to get him instead.

They report that Lens have already rejected an offer from Marseille for Wahi, which was valued at €20m.

That was seen as an initial opening gambit to negotiations, and they are now expected to continue between the two clubs.

Lens have made it clear they don’t intend to lose money on the player and want €30m given they paid that for him a year ago.

Discussions will take place to try and find an agreement and, in the meantime, Wahi is holding other interested suitors at arm’s length.

Leicester and West Ham are both keen and have been following him closely, but Wahi only wants to play for Marseille and is fully focused on them.

Thus, he is holding off on the Premier League duo for now, although whether that will actually deter Leicester or West Ham isn’t made clear.

Initial rejections don’t seem to bother clubs and with Marseille also keen on Eddie Nketiah, they might actually get their chance if they hold off and remain patient.
