Earlier this summer, Aston Villa youngster Oliwier Zych joined Polish club Rakow on a loan deal in an attempt to further the goalkeeper’s developments.

The move seemed promising at that time but the 21-year-old’s situation has witnessed a twist and he can now return to Birmingham.

Meczyki report that when Zych joined Rakow, it was hoped that he would get some amount of first-team football.

The club have now played nine games in all competitions but the young goalkeeper is yet to feature even once and has remained on the bench in every tie so far.

This is why Aston Villa and Zych himself are considering cutting short this loan.

In an attempt to hand him more game time, Rakow made the player available for the reserves side but Zych reported an injury.

He is expected to fly to England soon to assess his fitness and it’s doubted whether he will return to Poland or not.

Aston Villa are preparing the documents to shorten the loan but Rakow are currently against the possibility. As a result, the situation can now turn ugly and lead to a battle between the sides.
