Stoke City are interested in the Benfica youngster Yuri Ribeiro, according to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola today.
The 20-year-old left-back is frequently starting for Benfica’s B team, and had the chance to make his official debut in December.
Although the Portuguese side have great trust in his future, it’s been hard for him to get first team chances due to the big competition in the position at the club.
Ribeiro has a contract running until 2021 with a €30m release clause, but A Bola claims that a €5m fee is what Benfica would realistically demand to let the youngster go.
With caps for Portugal’s U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 squad, the player already has 48 games for the National Team’s youth levels.
A Bola recalls that Stoke City have already made a similar move in the past, when they signed the defender Luís Silva from Benfica’s U-17 in 2015.
