Despite all the optimism that the French media has been showing regarding Marseille’s effort to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United, other clubs still show hope about landing him.
That’s the case of Lazio, with their director Angelo Fabiani today having a word with the Italian press about the transfer window.
In quotes brought by TuttoMercatoWeb, the club chief was asked about the Manchester United player, and claimed talks are still ongoing for the transfer.
“We were already dealing with him last year, we are still in contact with Manchester United. There are still hassle but this is part of the football market, the devil’s advice is eaten by the fox and I am not a fox.”
Fabiani was also asked whether he’s confident about the signing, and he dodged that a little.
Despite the many stories claiming Marseille have an agreement with Manchester United for Greenwood, we’ve seen even the city’s mayor going public with his opposition to the transfer, believing it will bring repetitional damage.
Now as journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the talks with the French side are currently ‘stand by’ because of those public comments, it seems Lazio have a chance to get the transfer done.
