Last week, we covered claims from Turkey that Crystal Palace have already held talks with Batista Mendy’s agent. It was also stated Trabzonspor are willing to sell him for €15m in the summer window.
The Eagles’ interest in the 24-year-old continues to be discussed in Turkey and 61 Saat now provide the latest.
Mendy arrived at Trabzonspor last summer and has played 41 games this season, operating as a midfielder and also in the heart of defence. His performances and versatility have seen him attract Crystal Palace’s attention.
The Premier League side sent a scout to Turkey to closely follow the Frenchman in recent months and the Eagles official has gathered positive reports about him.
This has convinced Oliver Glasner’s side as the report states ‘steps will be taken’ by them to secure Mendy’s services in the next window.
It’s further claimed Crystal Palace are ‘preparing to contact’ Trabzonspor, likely to start negotiations over a potential deal for the versatile player.
There’s no mention of the fee the London club could offer for Mendy. His deal lasts until 2027, with an option for another year, and earlier claims have stated Trabzonspor want €15m to sanction his sale.
