With José Mourinho not showing all that much satisfaction at Roma lately, his potential farewell from the Giallorossi suddenly became a topic in the Italian media.
And it turns out that when speaking of the manager’s future, outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport shows some confidence that the manager could be back at Chelsea soon.
That’s mentioned in a story today where they analyse Mourinho’s recent quotes and speak of the possibilities he has in case of a departure from Roma at the end of the season.
There’s, it’s claimed that the coach could actually go in case they don’t qualify for the Champions League, and with his ‘many admirers’ in the Premier League, that would be his obvious destination.
That’s when Gazzetta suggest the list has an order, ‘starting with Chelsea’, adding that Mourinho ‘wrote history’ at Stamford Bridge side and could make a comeback, which, should it happen, would be his third time in charge of the club.
But the outlet doesn’t bring any actual information on his potential return to the Blues, as that’s only a scenario they can see in case the coach actually leaves Roma this summer.
José Mourinho managed Chelsea between 2004 and 2007 and then between 2013 and 2015, and oversaw three of their Premier League titles.
