Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo have a big update on Pau Lopez to Tottenham Hotspur. Basically they say the transfer is pretty much done after quick movement from the Premier League club.
Mundo Deportivo report that Pau is about to leave Espanyol and travel to Tottenham to join them on loan for the rest of the season. Tottenham will pay the Spanish club a loan fee of around €500k, and there will be an option to make the move permanent at the end of the current season.
The clause amount for that option is believed to be €7m, and there’s no indication wherever it may be triggered automatically, or who has what rights to enforce it.
Mundo Deportivo say that whilst the move hasn’t yet been made official by either club, that could well happen in the coming hours.
The newspaper says 21 year old Pau’s role will be as back-up to Hugo Lloris, who is currently injured, which would in turn place at least some doubt over Michel Vorm.
