A year ago, Nolito was on the verge of joining Barcelona from Celta Vigo, but the Catalan club couldn’t find the financial wriggle room to do a deal.

Manchester City swooped in the summer for Nolito and Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo say he arrived ‘as a star, self-esteem through the roof’ but has since ‘little by little, been disappearing’ at the Premier League club.

It’s pointed out that Nolito has only completed 90 Premier League minutes once this season, and Mundo Deportivo believe he’s fallen from grace at Manchester City, with his reputation taking a dive.

Nolito has four Premier League goals so far this season, and one in the Champions League, it’s not been a disaster by any stretch of the imagination.

Mundo Deportivo seem perturbed Nolito didn’t kick and scream enough to get the move to Barcelona.
