There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Hoffenheim and Augsburg are showing interest in Southampton midfielder Kuryu Matsuki.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Gotzepe after signing for Southampton from Tokyo FC last summer. Southampton and Goztepe are both owned by Sports Republic and this has seen Saints players being sent to the Turkish club.

Gazete Yenigun have reported on the German pursuit for the Japanese midfielder as both clubs look to add to their squads this summer.

It’s claimed the Sports Republic group have been approached by Hoffenheim and Augsburg, who have asked about the availability of Matsuki. The player has reportedly caught the eye of the Bundesliga sides following his performances in Super Lig this season.

According to the Izmir media outlet, Sports Republic could be open to selling the player during the next transfer window due to this interest, and may look to cash in on him.

Matsuki has made 27 appearances for Goztepe this season, scoring six goals. He’s contracted to Southampton until June 2028, but has yet to play for the Premier League club.
