Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio travelled to Albania this week to watch West Ham United’s Thomas Soucek in action for Czech Republic.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by FC Inter 1908, who say Ausilio wanted to rule the roost over the Hammers man as well as Albania’s Kristjan Asllani.
Inter were linked with a move for Soucek earlier this week, with it explained they were eyeing up the midfielder on the cheap as his contract with West Ham expires at the end of the season.
They see him as an ideal addition to their midfield but only if he is available for a low cost or as a free transfer next summer.
The latter is a little ambitious as it was explained that West Ham have an option to extend Soucek’s deal by another should they wish, something which seems likely to happen as it would be illogical for them to let him go on a free if they can get any sort of fee.
Either way, Inter Milan are keeping an eye on him and thinking about a move, and it seems they stepped up that interest this week with a trip to Albania.
Tuttosport say Ausilio made the trip to Albania for the game with Czech Republic, which the home side won 3-0, and Soucek was one of his two objectives.
The West Ham made is one of the names being ‘looked at’ by the Italian club and it seems the scouting trip this week was the latest step in that process.
