Former Deportivo La Coruña coach Rubén Coméndez is now set to join Manchester City and work as one of the club’s many scouts throughout Europe.

The story is reported by local newspaper La Voz De Galícia this Wednesday, with the coach himself confirming his new position at the Premier League champions.

“I’m very happy. It is a facet completely different from the one I have been developing, but at the same time I’m excited about that change to work at a club as big as Manchester City. I will travel a lot and always go with the back on my back,” Comendez told Voz de Galícia.

Coméndez used to work at La Coruña coaching the boys from Juvenil B, and now should start his job at Manchester City on the 1st of January, watching players from the U-17 level.

Under the orders of chief scout David Fernández Miramontes, Coméndez’s job will be to make reports of players from Spain and Portugal, and have all the details in case Manchester Ciity consider signing them.

Voz de Galícia recalls that Comendez is the player with most appearances in the Spanish second division, and had a short career as a manager of UD Vencidario, Deportivo La Coruña B and more recently Deportivo Fabril.
