With Leeds United ending back up in the Championship following a poor season under Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce, Victor Orta left the club.
The director of football had been hailed for his work initially, but the failings on the transfer market of late led to the parting of ways.
Leeds have yet to appoint his successor, but the Spaniard has wasted no time trying to find himself a new job, with Sevilla now looking at him, according to Onda Cero.
That’s because Monchi, their current director of football, is likely to leave his post after a tough season behind the scenes despite the success in the Europa League.
Honda Cero state the former Leeds chief is the ‘first option’ for Sevilla if their current man leaves, which looks likely after he told the La Liga side’s president that he ‘intends to leave’.
In fact, the club have ‘advanced negotiations’ with Orta, who previously worked for the club as their technical secretary for seven years.
Should that not come to fruition, they have a back up plan in Braulio Vázquez.
AS back this all up stating Orta is the ‘favourite’ after leaving Leeds United, and as well as having a strong relationship with Monchi himself, he also knows ‘some members of the Council’ at Sevilla.
Vázquez is also named there as an alternative, but his arrival would be more difficult as he would need to leave Osasuna, with whom negotiations would have to be held.
